ONE OPEN GUITAR CASE AT A TIME

 The Hudson-Wise Foundation mission is very simple. Make life a little better for children with Autism and special needs. We do this with by providing basic needs, like school supplies, coats, hats and in some cases even groceries. Most of the children we help are either profoundly disabled and/or profoundly poor. We just want to give these children a chance, try in some little way to life a tiny bit easier.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Lewis. Barb was a loyal friend, contributor and Board member of The Hudson Wise Foundation for many years. Her contributions and generosity touched the hearts of many and she will be greatly missed. We extend our sorrow and deepest sympathies to her family and loved ones. May she Rest In Peace.

Barbara Lynn Lewis was born to Gerald and Marjorie (nee’ Nelson) Stoll on December 17, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio. She passed away peacefully on June 23, 2021 in Mason, Ohio. Barb was an educator for 35 years. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1964 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University in 1968. Her love of learning continued, receiving a Master of Arts in 1987 from the College of Mount St. Joseph, in addition to post-graduate hours from Ashland University, University of Akron, and Walsh University.
She was selfless throughout life, always putting others first and working to make others’ lives better. As a mother, she created a practical, yet welcoming home environment that saw her constantly hosting her children’s friends for meals on no notice. Through her teaching career, she would volunteer extra time during the school year and summer to work with students to help them out. After retirement, she was a cancer survivor and committed a great deal of time helping others in a variety of ways through volunteering at multiple charities. She served as an officer on the board of the Hudson-Wise Foundation for God’s Special Children, volunteered at Medina Community Services Center, and the Battered Women’s Shelter.
Barb was a lover of books, nature, gardening, travel, and mostly of her family and friends. She never turned down an opportunity for conversation or a friendly debate. She was an avid Browns, Indians, and Ohio State fan. She enjoyed interacting with her kids during games, discussing their shortcomings or triumphs.
Barb is survived by her beloved sons, John Eshman (Maria) and Craig Eshman (Dawn), cherished granddaughters, Sicilia, Amelia and Bridgette, dearest brother, Gary Stoll (Rita), nieces, Elaine Stoll and Laura Kohl (Matt), and many dear friends.

​                        Obituary for Lawrence M. Gasparro Sr.

Lawrence “Larry” Gasparro was the beloved son of the late, Pietro and Josephine Gasparro. Born on 2.27.32 in New Lexington, Ohio - Passed on 7.02.20 in Olmsted Township, Ohio.

In 1996, he retired from the Teamsters Union, Local #407 after nearly 40 years. An avid Cleveland Indians fan “that guy can’t hit,” he also found occasional faith in his Cleveland Browns. He loved attending local car shows and meeting with his car friends. For the past 50 years, he routinely reminisced about his long lost 1950 Mercury Coupe “back when I was a gangster.” His music and musician friends were his lifelong passion. He learned to play harmonica as a teenager. He played harmonica with various bandmates for over 70 years. Recently, he was a musician with the Hudson-Wise Foundation for God’s Special Children. Over the past few years, he also enjoyed a couple of larger gigs with “Mwenso and the Shakes.”

He was very proud of his grandchildren. He did his very best to attend concerts/games etc. for all of his grandchildren: Jono, Grace, Cory, Amanda, Michael, Carli, Tyler, Cooper, Nick, Mason and Olivia. Recently, he was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Kellen, Leonello and Ella.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly and her two children from a previous marriage, Mike Ambrose & Debbie Ambrose and three children from his first marriage to the late Mildred, Larry (Linda), Janet Muldoon (Kevin) and Mike (Dalia).

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 12-2 PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted; where the Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM.

Urgent Projects

The Hudson Wise Foundation sponsored 2 Christmas Parties for 200 people at the Winking Lizard in Brunswick and Longos in Mentor. 4 TV's, 2 Laptops,  gift cards, jewelry and  misc gifts were given to people with special needs.         

We host a open Country Jam every Wednesdsay, 5:30pm until 8:30pm at the Winking Lizard Tavern, 3634 Center Rd. Brunswick, Ohio 44212. And the first Saturday of the month, 7:30pm until 10:00pm at Z's Cream & Bean. 2706 Boston Rd. Hinckley, Ohio 44233
